Photovoltaic project developer

Founded in 2008 by Fabrizio Nastri and Florent Wolff, Canopy was initially specialized in the solar photovoltaic energy sector. Canopy is one of the few French developers offering a complete range of services for each phase of a project: our team manages the entire process starting with identification of opportunities up to assistance to the owner during construction and operation, completing along the way the administrative development as well as the technical, legal and financial engineering.

With a sizable portfolio of projects developed for its own account or on behalf of private or public third parties, Canopy distinguishes itself through its expertise recognized by banks and financial institutions.

Advisor on the acquisition and sale of projects

In December 2010, the French Government announced a moratorium on large photovoltaic installations that suspended the power purchase obligation, leading to a halt of new project development. This was followed by the sale of many projects on the market, often ready to build and in need of financing.

It is in this context that Canopy has used its strong market experience to position itself alongside customers wishing to sell or acquire large photovoltaic projects.

Undertaking advisory assignments from the sale-side or from the buy-side, Canopy assists its clients throughout the transaction, from the identification of opportunities and a complete due-diligence of the project, to negotiations and finalization of the contractual structure. Besides its advisory role, Canopy can assist in the refinancing of the project by raising bank debt and long-term equity when necessary.

Biomass project developer

In order to expand its expertise to the entire green energy sector, Canopy has educated its teams for the past year in the full development of biogas power plants. From the identification of an opportunity to assistance to the owner during construction, Canopy now offers a complete range of services for the administrative, technical, legal and financial development using the same process and method as for its photovoltaic projects.

The Green Contract offered by Canopy, is aimed at farmers, industrials, and local authorities wishing to build a biogas project ranging from 100 to 350 kWe on their real estate assets.

Canopy capitalises on its international team, with all of its employees fluent in English, to seek opportunities outside of France.

Its international business development is currently covering Italy and Romania.
