CANOPY ENERGIES

Canopy Energies pledges to fight global warming by focusing on the production of clean energy and the reduction of carbon emissions. Our current projects are mainly located in Africa.

Born in 2008, Canopy Energies initially started by developing solar power plants. However, our rising awareness of the climate crisis has led us to transform our activities to become an actor of the energy transition. Our innovative initiatives benefit the environment while improving the livelihoods of local communities.

With more than 15 years of experience, Canopy is now dedicated to two objectives: 

• To produce renewable energy. The ecological transition cannot take place without an alternative to the consumption of non-renewable energy. We invest in carbon-free projects, biofuel production from Pongamia oil, recycling of waste from logging operations into wood pellets, for example.

• To develop carbon offset projects that avoid greenhouse gas emissions or sequester large quantities of CO2. Canopy Energies advises companies seeking to take part in the energy transition. Some of our projects rely on the improvement of energy efficiency: distributing improved cookstoves, rehabilitating boreholes. Additionally, we undertake carbon sequestration projects: reforestation, afforestation, and forest conservation. 

To ensure that they are socio-economically beneficial from the start and in the long term, all our projects are based on the inclusion of local populations.
